Kansas City Urology Care

My husband has been seeing the doctors here for several years now. The doctors have been great when you can manage to get an appointment, which is next to impossible because the front desk never answers the phone and we always have to leave a message. When we finally do get a call back, usually several days later, the nurse or receptionist or whoever calls back is rude and condescending. Getting a refill/permission for a change in size of refill to be dispensed (not the dosage, just permission for the pharmacy to dispense a different brand)/preauthorizations is also next to impossible, for the same reasons. Getting anyone on the phone, even for the pharmacy, takes days and generally offers little to no assistance for how they prefer to be contacted. I know this isn't due to our pharmacy because there is never problems with any other doctor (our family has quite a few). Because of the rudeness, condescension, and general seeming lack of client/patient communication, my husband almost always runs out of his medication and has several weeks in between where he is off of it. As a vet tech, if you are going to be rude to patients/clients, you need to find a new profession because that is trash bedside manner. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the doctors have always been receptive, honest, helpful, and actually listen. However getting to the actual doctor you have to go through rudest phone calls (when you do get them back) which, as any true medical professional would know, deters people from seeking proper care from the practice and can induce medically related trauma and unnecessary fear, something that should ALWAYS be avoided in a doctors office. Do better.

Everyone at KCUC does excellent work. Check in is easy. Nurse Leslie is amazing. I have seen Dr. Hertzig for 9 years now, including 2 procedures. She is simply the best. She of course is very knowledgeable. She has always given me great direction when I wasn't sure what to do with symptoms. I expect to be under her care for many years to come.

Here it is:) Treatment period: Sep 2022 thru Mar 2023 Dr. Qamar and his radiation staff provided the very best treatment, care, alternatives and kind consideration during my series of treatments. Dr. Qamar's radiation plan and subsequent monitoring of my situation was spot on and extremely effective! His staff made sure the plan was executed completely and accurately and they were always personable, considerate and highly professional. The end result was excellent in all respects!
